Understanding Food Insecurity in Wayne County

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – Food insecurity affects many residents, often unnoticed. According to Feeding America, around 1.4 million adults in Michigan struggle to provide enough food for their families on a regular basis.

Community Support Initiatives

In response to this issue, Focus: HOPE has teamed up with the Wayne County Commission to assist families outside the Detroit city limits.

Upcoming Food Distribution Events

    • Location: Roosevelt High School, 540 Eureka, Wyandotte, MI 48192
  • Date: Saturday, August 23
    • Time: 9:00 a.m.
    • Location: To be announced

Residents are encouraged to visit their local distribution sites, where fresh food boxes containing fruits and vegetables will be available. No pre-registration is needed; food will be shared on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
