The Chiefs’ social media team has maintained a tradition of interviewing players as they navigate the training camp grounds. On Wednesday, players were asked, “What’s one thing on your bucket list you haven’t completed yet?”

Players’ Aspirations

  • Defensive lineman George Karlaftis expressed a desire to visit Japan.
  • Cornerback Jacobe Covington shared his wish to try skydiving.
  • Linebacker Brandon George mentioned wanting to travel to Brazil.

When it was his turn, Jones candidly stated, “I just wanna be married, I just wanna be loved.” His heartfelt words mark a significant moment amid personal challenges.

Recent Personal Turmoil

The New York Post reported that Jones’ admission came following allegations made by his ex-girlfriend, Sheawna Weathersby, who accused him of infidelity. The couple reportedly ended their relationship sometime between late 2024 and early 2025.

Weathersby addressed their split on her Instagram Stories in March, saying, “I’m choosing to focus on the positive as I close this chapter on a 9-year relationship. Ultimately Chris’ infidelity with the woman he’s recently been pictured with led to my decision to end our relationship months ago.”

She further described troubling behavior from a third party, noting, “This is especially troubling given her history of harassment, stalking and disrespect towards me, including constantly calling and messaging me and my close friends from text free apps and fake Instagram pages. This behavior has forced me to change my number and has forced Chris to ask her multiple times to please leave me alone and respect our coparenting dynamic.”

Jones’ Current Status

In January, Jones acknowledged his single status but has not publicly addressed the cheating allegations. The former couple shares two children.

As he enters his 10th season with the Chiefs, Jones brings an impressive record, including three Super Bowl championships and six Pro Bowl selections. Last season, he recorded five sacks in 15 games.
