Stewart’s Remarks on As Ever
Martha Stewart recently expressed skepticism about Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, which offers products such as raspberry spreads, teas, and wildflower honey. In an interview with Yahoo Lifestyle, the 83-year-old lifestyle icon remarked, “Meghan I don’t really know very well, and I hope she knows what she’s talking about.” Stewart emphasized the importance of authenticity in business, saying, “Authenticity, to me, is everything, and to be authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter is extremely important.”
Praise for Gwyneth Paltrow
While Stewart critiqued Markle, she did commend Gwyneth Paltrow for her accomplishments with her brand, Goop. “Gwyneth has been very successful; she created quite an interesting body of businesses,” Stewart noted. “She won an Oscar, for heaven’s sake, as an actress! She’s pretty powerful.”
Paltrow’s Support for Markle
Earlier this year, Paltrow addressed the media’s portrayal of a rumored feud between her and Markle. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she stated, “I don’t know Meghan and Harry… I mean, I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all. Maybe I’ll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie.” Paltrow revealed she wasn’t very familiar with Markle’s criticized Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” or her brand As Ever, yet she expressed her inclination to support her.
Paltrow further commented on the scrutiny Markle has faced, saying, “when there’s noise about certain women in the culture, I do have, always, a strong instinct to stand up for them. I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes. I think there’s always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try.”

The two women later lightheartedly addressed the speculation about their relationship. During an Instagram Q&A session, a fan inquired about the rumored conflict between Paltrow and Markle. “I genuinely do not understand this at all whatsoever,” Paltrow responded. In a humorous moment, she showcased Markle casually sitting at her kitchen table enjoying a slice of pie, prompting laughs and a shared post from Markle on her own Instagram story.
